Circuito de Jerez 21/11/12
Swiss racer Simon Trummer is confirmed as the second driver for
the Caterham Racing GP2 team at the official post season test in
Jerez on 22nd/23rd November. Having had a
strong grounding in GP3 the 23 year old graduated to GP2 in 2012
and is now looking towards the 2013 season.
Trummer teams up with Caterham F1 Team Test Driver Alexander
Rossi for the Jerez test. Rossi will take part in his second 2012
post-season test for Caterham Racing, having put in a very strong
performance by topping the times on day two of the recent Barcelona
GP2 test. Rossi will also be fresh from the F1 Young Driver Test in
Abu Dhabi where he performed well, completing 86 laps of the Yas
Marina Circuit.
The team is looking forward to working with both drivers in what
will be the last outing of 2012 and if Barcelona was anything to go
by everyone will be dressing for cold and wet weather!
Caterham Racing Team Manager Phill
Spencer: "We are absolutely delighted to have Simon
joining us for the Jerez test. He has shown consistent pace in his
first season of GP2 and has steadily improved throughout the season
and we look forward to working with him and helping him move
towards the next step in his career."
Simon Trummer: "I'm really happy to get this
chance to test with such a professional team as Caterham Racing and
after one season in GP2 I am sure that this will help me move
forwards as a driver. Working with different people in a new team
will also be a new experience for me and I am really looking
forward to the two day test in Jerez and driving the Caterham
Racing car!"
Alexander Rossi: "I completed the F1
young driver test in Abu Dhabi last week and the next time I'll be
in a race car will be in Jerez for the GP2 test with Caterham
Racing. I'm really looking forward to picking up where we left off
in Barcelona as the quickest car and learning more about how to get
the best out the whole package, and further develop my relationship
with the whole team."
